What is dermaplaning?

This popular treatment provides your skin with deep exfoliation. Our expertly qualified aesthetic practitioner uses a small surgical scalpel to gently shave off the top layers of the skin. This process removes dead skin cells, and villus hair (peach fuzz), to leave your skin looking fresh and radiant, while feeling smooth and soft. This can help improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and scarring too.

But don't worry having a dermaplane will not mean that you now start growing a beard! The Villus hair is a different type of hair so will gradually return as it once was, fluffy, soft and pale in colour.

After the peach fuzz and dead skin cells have been gently removed your skin will be treated to a cocktail of a high potency Hyaluronic acid and Collagen serums to help your skin hydrate deep into the skin layers and help the skin to look and feel glowing and youthful. Followed by an SPF for protection from the suns UV rays. Following a Dermaplane you will be given advice on how to care for your skin at home. We advise not to use retinoids or Tretinoin for 7 days following the treatment as this could make your skin too dry or sensitive. You will notice that now the layer of dead skin cells have been removed that your skin is brighter and able to absorb your normal skincare products at home quicker and more efficiently into the skin, as it is able to penetrate deeper into the dermal layers instead of being held towards to the top layers of the skin
