So what are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) a naturally occurring sugar. It has a soft Gel consistency that compliments and helps to feed collagen in the skin. HA helps to improve elasticity whilst allowing the skin to maintain the optimum hydration by drawing water to the area.

As we age our skin loses the natural hyaluronic acid. Dramatic reductions normally happen from the age of 35 onwards and can be accelerated by a drop in hormones; such as approaching the menopause. Sun damage is also another major contributor to why our skin loses its youthful appearance. Lines may begin to appear, the volume from our cheeks may drop and lips start to thin. Dermal Fillers are able to reduce these effects, whilst still maintaining a natural and youthful look.

You will have a result on the day of treatment, and we find that during the next 2 weeks after treatment the fillers actually continue to reduce lines and  wrinkles. As HA is predominantly used by the skin to help increase moisture, you may find that your skin feels less dry, more hydrated and smoother. 

Special Dermal fillers placed carefully just under the eye (Tear Trough filler) helps with dark circles.  Tear trough filler also contains amino acids and vitamins to help reduce that dark tired look. Over the course of a few weeks these vitamins and amino acids continue to work and improve your results further. All of our dermal fillers last between 6-18 months, this is entirely dependent on how quickly your body metabolizes the HA in the filler, how much UV and sun exposure you have, and your age also plays a role in the longevity of the products
